CFS
Child and Family Services (CFS) is responsible for the safety and well-being of children and families in Manitoba. CFS is managed by 3 different levels of services that are responsible for your care: the Department of Families, CFS Authorities, and CFS Agencies.

Rights
You have the right to know what your CFS rights are when you enter care and anytime you ask.

You have the right to financial support while you are in care and programs to help when you exit care.

You have the right to file a complaint if your rights are violated or you are not receiving proper services.

Access to CFS File
You have the right to access your CFS file once you turn 18.

Find an Advocate
You have the right to speak to an advocate and have them present at meetings. Advocates can help explain your rights and make sure they are upheld.
